William F. Ebsary, Jr. was born at St. Joseph’s hospital in Tampa. He has always been called Casey. Maybe this is a reference to New York Yankee manager Casey Stengel. Predictably, like Stengel, Casey Ebsary played catcher on his little league team. Casey attended Gorrie Elementary. There, he enjoyed reading to the younger grades and stomping down the wooden hallways in boots. Next, he went to Wilson Jr High. He joined the band, trumpeting under the leadership of Mr. Warrend P. Frederick. Then, Casey went to Jesuit High School. At Jesuit, he continued playing trumpet in the band and also played offensive lineman on the Tiger football team. During high school, he worked at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. Casey earned his private pilot’s license. He started college at Jacksonville University where he enjoyed water skiing. Casey received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He came back to Tampa Bay to receive his law degree at Stetson University College of Law.

Casey experienced many years as a Florida Assistant Prosecutor. Casey learned all about how DUI cases are prosecuted while he worked in Hillsborough County’s Drug Court. Casey knows many of the prosecutors and officers. He knows the entire process of prosecuting DUI cases. It starts with receiving police reports and researching. Then there are meetings with witnesses, and preparing the case.

Yes, he is. The Florida Supreme Court started a board certification program to help people find legal specialists. Casey became a lawyer in 1990. He decided early on to focus on criminal defense. He worked on many, many criminal cases. This earned Casey’s the respect of his peers due to his excellent legal skills and his professional and personal ethics. DUI The People's Guide to Fighting Like an Expert

Casey Ebsary started lecturing while he was still a law student. He taught “Research and Writing 1” as part of his Teaching Fellowship at Stetson University College of Law. He also started his notable writing pursuit at that time. Casey became an Editorial Board Member of Stetson Law Review. Stetson Law Review published two of Casey’s articles. He wrote Note, Fourth Amendment Aerial Privacy; Expect the Unexpected, 19 STETSON L. REV. 273  (1989) and Recent Developments in Section 1983, 19 STETSON L. REV. 1065 (1990). As a practicing attorney, Casey has been published 3 times in the HCBA’s Lawyer magazine. He wrote “Paper-less Office or Less-paper Office”, “Secret Messages that are not Secret”, and “Securing a Cable Modem Against Computer Criminals”.

More recently, Casey wrote a book “#DUI The People’s Guide to Fighting Like An Expert.” It helps people accused of a DUI navigate through the whole ordeal. He offers it free as a downloadable PDF.

Primary Office in Hillsborough County

Casey loves Tampa Bay. He usually works in Hillsborough County. Casey handles the criminal portion of a DUI at the Twiggs Street Courthouse. He handles the administrative portion of a DUI at the Hillsborough Avenue office of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Casey also represents clients in Pinellas County and Pasco County. For clients whose legal trouble are further away, Casey has been known to work in a team with other qualified local attorneys.
